The original Jade offers the same virtual secure element security as the Jade Plus for half the price. No built-in camera means you scan QRs with your phone, but the air-gapped security is identical. At $79, this is the best value in Bitcoin hardware wallets. If budget matters and you don't mind the phone-based QR workflow, the Jade is hard to beat.

My Final Take
The Jade is my budget recommendation. You get Blockstream's security architecture, open-source firmware, and air-gapped capability for $79. The tradeoff is no built-in camera and a smaller screen. For most people, that's fine. The Jade proves you don't need to spend $200+ for real Bitcoin security. If you're just starting with hardware wallets or want a backup device, this is it.
