Portal

Portal is what Tangem should have been. Credit card form factor with an actual e-ink display for verifying transactions. Open-source firmware you can audit. Bitcoin-only. No battery, just NFC power. It proves you can have portability without sacrificing security fundamentals.

Twenty Two Devices built Portal for one purpose: portable Bitcoin security. No altcoin support, no feature bloat. The e-ink display exists because you need to verify addresses on-device. That principle guided every design decision.

My Final Take

Portal is the best card-format hardware wallet. Unlike Tangem, it has a display for address verification. Unlike closed-source competitors, the firmware is auditable. The NFC-only connection requires an NFC phone, and the newer company track record is a consideration. But the design fundamentals are sound. If you want credit card portability with actual security, Portal delivers.
