Tangem Review

Crypto security in credit card form

Tangem

Tangem is a credit card you tap against your phone. That's it. No screen, no buttons, no way to verify what you're signing. You're trusting your phone completely. For someone who wants to feel like they have a hardware wallet without understanding why screens matter, sure. For actual security? Hard pass.

Multi-Coin Warning

Supporting multiple cryptocurrencies means more code, more complexity, and more potential vulnerabilities. Most altcoins are scams anyway. The wallet makers who support them are prioritizing sales over your security.

Security Architecture

NFC smart card with secure element. Simple but limited.

One of the cheapest hardware wallet options.

Where It Falls Short

  1. No Display: Cannot verify addresses on device. Must trust phone completely.

My Final Take

From a hardware standpoint, the Tangem is fine. The issue is what runs on that hardware.

It has nfc and card format. Some people will like that.

Not Recommended

I don't recommend multi-coin wallets. The attack surface is larger, the codebase is more complex, and most altcoins are scams. At $70, there are Bitcoin-only alternatives that will serve you better.

Bitcoin-only, dummy.

I'm not going to help you buy a multi-coin wallet. Check out my Bitcoin-only recommendations instead.
