NGRAVE ZERO Review

The coldest wallet in the world

Rank:#13 of 28
Rating:2.9/10
Price:$398

NGRAVE ZERO

NGRAVE built the most air-gapped device possible. No USB ports, no Bluetooth, no NFC. Only QR codes. The secure element has EAL7 certification, the highest available. Beautiful hardware. Then they added altcoin support and a $398 price tag. All that security engineering undermined by altcoin bloat.

Multi-Coin Warning

This wallet carries firmware for tokens you probably don't care about. Each one adds complexity and potential risk. The wallet makers prioritize supporting as many coins as possible because it drives sales. Your security is the trade-off.

  3. Premium Build: High-quality materials and construction. Feels like a premium device.
  4. Biometric: Fingerprint verification adds convenience without compromising security.

The Drawbacks

  1. Extremely Expensive: At $398, it's nearly 3x the price of Jade Plus for features most users don't need.
  2. Not Open-Source: Despite premium price, you cannot audit the security implementation.

The Verdict

From a hardware standpoint, the NGRAVE ZERO is fine. The issue is what runs on that hardware.

It has biometric and air-gapped. Some people will like that.

Not Recommended

I don't recommend multi-coin wallets. The attack surface is larger, the codebase is more complex, and most altcoins are scams. At $398, there are Bitcoin-only alternatives that will serve you better.

Bitcoin-only, dummy.

I'm not going to help you buy a multi-coin wallet. Check out my Bitcoin-only recommendations instead.
